MEMPHIS — Memorial Day weekend represents the final high school shoe circuit action until July, so that means many of the nation’s top prospects will begin scheduling summer campus visits for June or the middle to late part of July and into August.
To this point Indiana doesn’t have a commit in the 2024 class, and we’re hitting the point when those rising seniors will start narrowing their lists and ultimately choose a school.
So look for things to start to pick up fast with 2024.
Several top-50 players at the Nike EYBL stop in Memphis this weekend told The Daily Hoosier they are looking to visit Indiana this summer.
As we reported last month, 4-star guard Jaeden Mustaf is visiting Bloomington in a couple weeks (June 8-10).
We also reported on Sunday that 4-star wing Rakease Passmore is considering a senior year official visit to IU. He took a junior year official to Indiana in November. The recruiting calendar flips to a new school year on July 1.
Multiple additional key IU 2024 targets told TDH on Sunday at the Memphis Sports and Events Center they are planning to visit as well.
5-star forward Liam McNeeley, who made a junior official visit in September said he’s looking at dates for a return trip after Peach Jam in July. He also said he noticed IU’s hiring of Calbert Cheaney and likes the additional NBA insight he’ll bring.
5-star Tyler Betsey, a Connecticut-based wing who plays for the New York Renaissance, also said he’s likely to visit IU this summer. Betsey is a 6-foot-7 3-point shooting specialist who has shown improvement this spring playing off the dribble.
Finally, 5-star point guard Boogie Fland told The Daily Hoosier he’s eyeing a June visit. We’ll have more on what the New York product had to say about the season Jalen Hood-Schifino just had for IU.
Several other players in the 2024 class including point guard Curtis Givens and shooting guard Austin Swartz said they would be in the process of narrowing things down and scheduling visits in the coming weeks. Indiana is in the conversation for both of them.
This is of course not an exclusive list, just the folks we caught up with at the Nike event in Memphis. It won’t be a surprise if a few additional players, including from other circuits, schedule IU visits too. The Hoosiers are firmly in the mix for senior year visits from players like Travis Perry and Flory Bidunga from the Indiana Elite Adidas program.
We’ll provide updates when the various visit dates get set.
