The inside-out in-state initiative carries on as IU hosted Class of 2019 Indianapolis native Armaan Franklin for an unofficial visit on Thursday. Franklin’s high school coach broke the news after the visit that the Hoosiers have offered Franklin a scholarship:
Congratulations to Armaan Franklin @unkle44artty on earning an offer from Indiana University during his visit today ☘️🏀 #ClimbTheLadder

Franklin hails from Indianapolis Cathedral High School. He is a 6-4 combo guard that had a strong junior season in high school and has been gaining more attention nationally as a result. According to the 247 Sports Composite, Franklin is ranked as the 107th best player overall nationally and 4th best in the state of Indiana.
He is playing on the Nike EYBL circuit this spring/summer with MeanStreets. He is teammates there with fellow IU recruiting target Brandon Newman. Franklin has averaged 9.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists during the spring.
During his junior year at Cathedral, Franklin averaged 23.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game and shot 54 percent from the field.
The IU coaching staff visited Franklin in-home in April and he went to the Northwestern game in Bloomington in January.
He has multiple offers, with Butler, Louisville, Purdue, Ohio State, and Xavier as the perceived favorites prior to the Indiana offer.
