Former IU basketball forward Trayce Jackson-Davis was selected in the second round by the Golden State Warriors at the NBA Draft on Thursday evening.
The four year starter for the Hoosiers was the 57th overall selection in the draft.
Jackson-Davis celebrated the draft with friends and family at an event in downtown Indianapolis on Thursday evening.
Most mock drafts predicted Jackson-Davis would be selected earlier. As the second round wore on, he showed some frustration on his Twitter page.
Y’all will regret it… I promise you.

But in the end, Jackson-Davis was drafted as expected, and he now has an opportunity in the NBA.
The Greenwood, Ind. product was a consensus first team All-American in 2023 and graduated as the program’s all-time leader in rebounds and blocks while finishing third in points. Jackson-Davis is one of five players in Big Ten Basketball history to record 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.
IU has now had 79 former players selected in the NBA Draft according to the program. He’s just the second IU player to be chosen by the Warriors, following Keith Smart in 1988.
The draft marked the first time since 2017 in which two Hoosiers earned selections. Both O.G. Anunoby (23rd overall by Toronto) and Thomas Bryant (42nd overall by Utah) were picked in ’17. Indiana has produced multiple draft picks in the same class on 14 occasions, including a program record five selections in 1983.
Jackson-Davis ranked first among all center prospects at the combine in standing vertical jump (33.0), max vertical jump (36.5), shuttle run (3.16), and three-quarter sprint (3.20). He measured in at 6’8.25″ without shoes with a wingspan of 7’1.00″.
Earlier in the evening, former IU point guard Jalen Hood-Schifino was selected with the No. 17 pick by the Los Angeles Lakers.
