Things seem to be moving quickly for Indiana with 2022 quarterback Brendan Sorsby.
Hailing from Lake Dallas, Tex., (Lake Dallas H.S.), Sorsby was offered by Indiana earlier this week and he is now in Bloomington for an official visit.
We now understand via a source that IU is no longer pursuing Florida-based 2022 quarterback Davin Wydner, another sign that Sorsby may be on a fast-track towards a commitment. Head coach Tom Allen said a month ago that he intended to add a quarterback to IU’s 2022 class.
Sorsby is listed at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds. He was limited to seven games because of injury in 2021. A true dual-threat, he passed for 1,316 yards, rushed for 823 yards, and accounted for 29 total touchdowns.
Indiana was Sorsby’s first Power Five offer. He is not ranked by the major services and appears to be someone Allen and new offensive coordinator Walt Bell believe has been overlooked and has the foundation to be developed over time into a Big Ten quarterback.
Sorsby’s other offers include Abilene Christian, Army, Delaware, Fordham, Lamar, Navy, Texas A&M-Commerce, and Western Carolina.
