Indiana jumped on No. 20 Ohio State in the first half and never looked back.
Mackenzie Holmes posted a career high 30 points to lead the No. 10 Hoosiers (8-2, 2-0) to an 86-66 win over the Buckeyes in Columbus. Holmes topped the 1,000 point mark in her career during the game.
IU opened the game up on a 10-0 run behind six points from Holmes. After holding the Buckeyes without a bucket for the final two minutes of the first half, Indiana increased its lead to 14, 43-29, at the break. The lead swelled to 20 by the end of the third.
“I thought we came out and were all business from the jump,” Indiana coach Teri Moren said.
Grace Berger added 21 points, and tied a team-high seven rebounds to go along with five assists. Nicole Cardaño-Hillary chipped in 17 points, hitting a pair of triples while dishing out four assists and two steals.
As a team, the Hoosiers shot 58.1 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent at the 3-point line.
Indiana recorded its largest ever win over the Buckeyes in program history, and won back-to-back games in Columbus for the first time since the 2001-02 season.
