Indiana has had a class of 2025 visitor on campus as they look to add to their incoming high school senior class.
7-foot center Fridrik Leo Curtis was on an official visit to Bloomington the last few days. He was at Indiana’s game against Minnesota on Monday evening.
IU offered Curtis a scholarship in late October, joining other high major programs like Creighton, Stanford, Xavier, Alabama, Arizona State, UCF, and West Virginia.
Curtis hails from Iceland and attends Cambridge Arts, Technology and Science (CATS) Academy in Braintree, Mass. That school is part of the highly competitive NEPSAC league. He just arrived in the United States to play his senior season a few months ago.
More of a modern big man, Curtis can stretch the floor with his ability to make threes. That will probably be the strength of his game at the next level, at least until he gets stronger and grows more accustomed to the physical post game in the U.S. He started playing basketball relatively late and will likely be a developmental player early in his college career.
Curtis has also recently visited West Virginia and Arizona State. Obviously an official visit means Indiana is under serious consideration.
Before coming to the U.S., Curtis has played for the Icelandic National Team and the IR Reykjavik club team.
Playing professionally in Iceland last season, he averaged 15.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks while shooting 42.2% from three on 3.3 attempts per game.
Indiana has one player currently in their 2025 class, Indiana native and Montverde Academy 6-foot-7 forward Trent Sisley.
