After a one-year stop in Bloomington, Payton Sparks is set to reunite with former IU guard Michael Lewis.
Sparks announced on Sunday he is transferring back to Ball State to play for Lewis, who is entering his third season as head coach in Muncie.
The 6-foot-10 center played two seasons at Ball State and was an All-MAC performer there before entering the transfer portal last March.
A year ago Sparks said playing at IU was a dream, but he was unable to carve-out a significant role in Bloomington.
In his lone season with IU, Sparks averaged 2.1 points and 1.8 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per contest. He shot 51.4% from the field overall, and 41.7% from the free throw line.
Sparks has one year of eligibility remaining.
