Four of Indiana’s scholarship players appeared on the Big Ten’s pregame availability report Tuesday afternoon.
The Hoosiers are listing sophomore guard Gabe Cupps and junior forward Malik Reneau as both OUT tonight.
Reneau has now missed four straight games with a right knee injury suffered Jan. 2 vs. Rutgers.
In encouraging news, redshirt freshman guard Jakai Newton has been upgraded to QUESTIONABLE, but he’s joined in that designation by sophomore guard and Kanaan Carlyle.
UPDATE: Carlyle and Newton are both in uniform warming up.
For Illinois, star freshman Kasparas Jakucionis is QUESTIONABLE. The Illini point guard has missed the last two games with a forearm injury.
UPDATE: Jakucionis is warming up and appears set to play.
Illinois lost on Saturday to USC without Jakucionis. A projected NBA Draft lottery pick, he is averaging 16.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per contest. He shoots 49.6% from the floor, 41.4% from behind the arc, and 87.5% from the free throw line.
We’ll update this story during pregame warmups as it relates to all three questionable players.
Indiana and Illinois tip at 7 p.m. ET in Bloomington (Peacock).
