The program set a new win total record. It contended for a Big Ten championship until the final week of the regular season. It made the College Football Playoff, providing a path to win the national championship. And the quarterback was legitimately in the Heisman Trophy conversation.
What are the chances of all of that happening again in Curt Cignetti’s second season as head coach of Indiana? One thing is clear — everyone thinks IU’s chances of high level success are much better this time after witnessing Cignetti’s dramatic program turnaround.
Ahead of spring practice, here is what the gambling community thinks of IU’s projected win total, and their chances to win a national title, the Big Ten title and the Heisman Trophy.

Indiana over/under win total: Line set at 8.5. Over is the underdog bet as of Feb. 26.
This is a three game increase over this time last year, when most of the sports books pegged Indiana’s over/under win total at 5.5 against an easier schedule.
Indiana wins the Big Ten championship: +2,500 odds ($100 bet wins $2,500)
These odds were in the neighborhood of +30,000 a year ago.
Indiana wins the national championship: +10,000 odds ($100 bet wins $10,000)
These odds were roughly +200,000 this time last year.
Fernando Mendoza’s Heisman Trophy odds: +5,000 odds ($100 bet wins $5,000)
Kurtis Rourke’s preseason odds a year ago ranged from +15,000 to +30,000.
