IU football coach Tom Allen broke his own rule on Thursday and revealed some midweek injury news.
And it sounds like good news for the Hoosiers.
Allen said wide receiver Cam Camper “had a good week of practice” this week after suffering an injury on Friday against Indiana State.
Camper suffered a right knee injury near the end of the first half against the Sycamores. The senior wideout caught a pass from Brendan Sorsby and limped toward the sideline.
The 6-foot-2 Camper received attention from IU’s medical staff and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Camper had three receptions for 37 yards in the first half, including a catch that made ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays for Friday.
Now in his second season with IU, Camper led the team with 46 catches and 569 receiving yards in 2022 despite suffering a season ending torn ACL in week eight.
While he did not return to the game, Camper remained in full uniform and appeared to be in good spirits during the second.
Camper’s fellow wide receiver E.J. Williams also suffered an arm injury during the game, but Allen did not comment on his status.
Allen has said on multiple occasions this year he does not intend to provide injury updates during his media availabilities. Instead, the updates will come via the new Big Ten mandated injury report released two hours before kickoff.
WOW WHAT A CATCH❗️
