The top target on the board in the class of 2020 is going to take an extended look at Indiana.
As first reported by Nick Baumgart of Rivals, Minnesota based top-30 forward Dawson Garcia is planning an official visit to Indiana Oct. 25-27. That date is also confirmed on his 247Sports profile page.
The 6-foot-10 Garcia has already taken an official visit to Minnesota and is finishing another at Memphis on Monday.
Garcia is the No. 30 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite and the No. 4 power forward.
The Prior Lake High School forward averaged 27.5 points and 11 rebounds a game as a high school junior for a 25-4 top five ranked team.
When class of 2020 guard Anthony Leal verbally committed to IU in August, he told The Daily Hoosier this about Garcia:
“I’ve been friends with Dawson Garcia the last year or two playing against him on the circuit,” Leal said. “So I am definitely going to talk to him just to try get his mind thinking about IU.”
Garcia released a top seven last month that included North Carolina, Arizona, Memphis, Kansas, Marquette and Minnesota. Recruits are permitted five official visits as seniors.
