Illinois is expected to be without leading scorer Terrence Shannon on Saturday against Indiana according to a report.
Stadium’s Jeff Goodman said on Twitter Shannon will not play because of a concussion he suffered against Penn State earlier this week.
The 6-foot-6 Shannon is averaging 17 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He is the leading scorer for the Fighting Illini and scored 26 points in the first meeting with IU. He is coming off a team high 20-point performance at Penn State.
Shannon’s absence will likely lead to more playing time for a trio of reserve wings.
R.J. Melendez had 10 points and 4 rebounds off the bench in the first meeting with IU. Luke Goode is an Indiana native whose father played football at IU. Goode is coming off of a foot injury and made his season debut a week ago. And Ty Rodgers is a true freshman coming off a career high 11 point and 8 rebound game this week at Penn State.
