Paging former IU football coach Lee Corso.
We need a “not so fast my friend.”
Nothing comes easy in the world of recruiting 5-star basketball players.
While there’s been recent noise suggesting Indiana is in a leading position for class of 2024 5-star forward Liam McNeeley, the Hoosiers have serious company.
For a while it seemed at least conceivable a Sept. 8-10 visit to IU would be McNeeley’s lone visit this fall, but reports out Monday say he’ll take at least two more in September.
ESPN’s Paul Biancardi said McNeeley will go to Kansas this weekend, September 1-3. Later this month he’ll go to Texas from September 22-24.
Texas has long been thought of as a legitimate contender for McNeeley, and his visit to Austin will be his second. He hails from the Longhorn State but attends Montverde Academy in Florida.
Kansas was one of McNeeley’s top-six schools, and the Bill Self and the Jayhawks are a legit threat anytime they are involved.
McNeeley is the No. 11 overall player in the class of 2024 according to the On3 Industry Average. He has said he wants to wrap up his recruitment by the end of 2023.
