Rocco Miller of bracketeer.org is reporting IU basketball will host Chattanooga in a 2024-25 nonconference game.

The Mocs were the No. 140 team in the nation at the end of the 2023-24 season according to KenPom.

Going into his third season at Chattanooga, head coach Dan Earl appears to have the team trending in the right direction.  They finished the 2023-24 campaign with a 21-12 record and a 12-6 mark in the Southern Conference.  That followed an 18-17 initial season for Earl.

Chattanooga welcomes six newcomers via the transfer portal and two freshman. The new faces will join returning All-Southern Conference guards Trey Bonham (16 ppg) and Honor Huff (17.4 ppg).

In Bart Torvik’s preseason rankings, he slots Chattanooga in as the No. 152 team in the country, and fifth in the Southern Conference.

IU is 3-0 all-time against the Mocs, including a 99-74 opening round win at Des Moines in the 2016 NCAA Tournament.  The other two wins over Chattanooga came in November of 2007 and 2011 in Bloomington.

Indiana will also play Eastern Illinois and South Carolina in home nonconference games.

With 20 Big Ten opponents announced and now six nonconference games known, only five games, and the specifics of the Battle 4 Atlantis, remain a mystery for the 2024-25 campaign.
