Indiana may get a chance to host class of 2024 5-star big man Flory Bidunga on his final official visit.
IndyStar high school reporter Kyle Neddenriep wrote on Saturday “the five-star prospect plans to visit Indiana on an official visit prior to making his (college) decision.”
The 6-foot-10 Kokomo H.S. center is ranked No. 4 overall nationally according to the On3 Industry Average. He’s taken multiple visits to IU but hasn’t taken a longer official visit to this point.
Bidunga has said in multiple reports he’d like to make his college decision before Kokomo resumes school in early August.
There’s been some speculation Bidunga is a heavy Duke lean. That notion has been bolstered by his scheduling of a Duke official visit for June 20 — just weeks after the Blue Devils entered his recruitment. With that in mind, it’s at least possible the IU visit never happens.
But Indiana is still pushing forward. The IU staff, including head coach Mike Woodson, watched Bidunga on Saturday at the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Top 100 Underclass Showcase in Brownsburg, Ind. That’s a clear sign IU still believes it has a chance in this high profile recruitment. Woodson has been heavily involved in Bidunga’s recruitment throughout.
So far Bidunga has visited Florida, Auburn, Michigan and Kansas.
Bidunga was named the Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year after averaging 20.2 points, 13.8 rebounds and 4.5 blocked shots per game and leading Kokomo to the Class 4A state finals.
