Indiana is expecting a visit from one of the most coveted shooters in the transfer portal.
According to a report by On3’s national analyst Joe Tipton, Sam Houston shooting guard Lamar Wilkerson intends to visit IU, along with Kentucky, Ole Miss and Auburn.
The 6-foot-5 and 205-pound Wilkerson was one of the best shooters in college basketball this season. He ranked sixth nationally in three-pointers per game (3.41) and eighth in three-point percentage (44.5). He is the first Sam Houston player to average more than 20 points in a season since the program moved up to the Division I level in 1987.
Wilkerson, a two-time first-team All-CUSA selection, ended the season as the league leader in scoring at 21.2 points per game during conference play for Sam Houston. The senior guard scored in double figures in all 32 games this season and 20 or more points in nine of the 18 league contests.
For his three year Division-I career, the Ashdown, Ark. product has scored 1,340 points (14.3 ppg). He has shot 45.3% from the field including 40.3% from three on 511 attempts (5.4 attempts per game).
Wilkerson scored 18 points and made two threes in a game at IU in December.
Wilkerson has one season of eligibility remaining.
