IU basketball’s 2024-25 Big Ten schedule continues to trickle out.
On Tuesday evening, Jon Rothstein reported the Hoosiers will open Big Ten play on Monday, Dec. 9 against Minnesota in Bloomington.
The news follows prior announcements Indiana will play at Nebraska on Dec. 13 and at Penn State on Jan. 5. Each of those teams are in the bottom six of Bart Torvik’s preseason Big Ten rankings.
Indiana has won eight straight games against Minnesota, with the last loss coming in 2019.
Ben Johnson’s Gophers return leading scorer Dawson Garcia (17.6 PPG) along with Mike Mitchell Jr. (10.2 PPG). Gone are other key producers such as Cam Christie (11.3 PPG), Pharrel Payne (10.0 PPG), and Elijah Hawkins (9.5 PPG).
Minnesota was 19-15 last year, and 9-11 in the Big Ten. Bart Torvik has the Gophers slotted at No. 71 in his preseason rankings, good for 16th in the Big Ten.
