Former IU stars will be reunited in Boston for the Celtics’ training camp according to a report by HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.
Forward Juwan Morgan has signed a training camp deal with Boston according to the report. There he will join former Indiana teammate Romeo Langford. The pair teamed up in Bloomington for the 2018-19 season.
Morgan went undrafted after that 2018-19 campaign but signed an Exhibit 10 contract, then a two-way contract and finally an NBA contract all with the Jazz.
In two seasons with Utah Morgan averaged 1.4 points and 1.1 rebounds over 5.6 minutes of action per game. He shot 51.8 percent from the field overall including 33 percent from behind the 3-point arc.
The 6-foot-7 Morgan played for the Jazz in the 2021 NBA Summer League. The Jazz didn’t issue Morgan a qualifying offer, leaving the door open for the new deal with Boston.
A Waynesville, Mo. product, Morgan finished his four-season IU career 24th all-time in scoring (1,374), 8th in blocked shots (138), tied for 4th in field goal percentage (56.2), and 10th in rebounds (757).
Boston’s training camp opens on Sept. 28.
