Indiana fans will have to wait a couple more days for Oregon transfer big man Kel’el Ware to announce his next move.
According to a report by Adam Zagoria, Ware will announce his next college decision on Tuesday.
The 7-foot Ware took an official visit to Indiana beginning on Thursday. The trip to Bloomington was Ware’s only official visit since entering the portal two weeks ago. There were reports he intended to go to Alabama after the IU visit, but he didn’t make that trip.
A versatile big man who can make perimeter shots and guard away from the rim, Ware was a 5-star prospect in the class of 2022. He was widely expected to be one-and-done in college.
Hailing from Little Rock, Ark., Ware averaged 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in a mostly reserve role (15.8 mpg) during his freshman campaign in Eugene.
According to sources, Ware enjoyed his visit to Indiana, and the Hoosiers are in a good position in this recruitment. That message came through loud and clear as early as Thursday evening, and these latest developments only seem to serve as additional evidence of where things stand.
Ware would fill a significant need for IU following the loss of first team All-American center Trayce Jackson-Davis.
A former McDonald’s All-American, Ware says he is not considering entering the NBA Draft this spring.
