It isn’t clear at this point whether Indiana’s entire 2024-25 Big Ten schedule will be reported first via game-by-game leaks or a full release.
One thing we’ve known for a while is that while the league has expanded to 18 teams, Indiana and Purdue will continue to play twice during the regular season.
On Friday, national college basketball reporter Jon Rothstein leaked the dates and locations for the 2025 matchups involving the Hoosiers and Boilermakers.
Rothstein says on his X account Purdue will host Indiana on Friday, January 31st at Mackey Arena, and the Hoosiers will then host the Boilers on Sunday, February 23rd at Assembly Hall.
IU coach Mike Woodson is 3-3 against Purdue during his three seasons as head coach. He broke a nine-game losing streak to the Boilermakers in 2022.
For what it’s worth, this is the first time since the 2018-19 season the first game in the series will be held in West Lafayette.
The Feb. 23 game in Bloomington falls on the exact 40-year anniversary of the date when Bob Knight threw a chair across the floor at Assembly Hall — against the Boilermakers.
These games represent the fourth and fifth Big Ten contest leaked out by Rothstein prior to the full release by the conference — which typically happens around this time of year.
Here are all of the Big Ten games now known:
- Dec. 9 — vs. Minnesota
- Dec. 13 — at Nebraska
- Jan. 5 — at Penn State
- Jan. 31 — at Purdue
- Feb. 23 — vs. Purdue
