Former IU basketball star Victor Oladipo will be traded to Memphis according to multiple reports on Thursday.
The Houston Rockets have acquired center Steven Adams from the Memphis Grizzlies for Oladipo and three second-round picks.
Memphis will be Oladipo’s sixth NBA franchise, following stops at Orlando, Oklahoma City, Indiana, Houston and Miami.
Oladipo, 31, is dealing with a patellar tendon injury in his left knee and has not played a game since April of last season.
For the third time in just over four years Oladipo suffered a major knee injury in April. The latest injury involves Oladipo’s left knee, while his prior history of major issues related to his right.
Oladipo missed all but eight games last season due to a second right quadriceps tendon tear. He missed a year of action the first time he suffered a right quadricep tendon tear with the Indiana Pacers in 2019.
The 10-year veteran has missed 302 of a possible 421 games since initially getting hurt while playing for Indiana in 2019.
A lottery pick in 2013, Oladipo was a two-time NBA All-Star with the Pacers. He was a consensus first team All-American at IU in 2013.
