Indiana basketball 2018 recruiting target Romeo Langford had two games over the weekend, both New Albany wins. On Friday night the Bulldogs held off Princeton (Ohio) 65-64 in front of a national television audience. Langford scored 36 points on the night.
On Saturday New Albany rolled against Evansville Reitz, 75-50. Langford scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. New Albany (13-1), who is ranked No. 3 in Class 4A, won their 10th straight game.
Langford would need to average 41.4 points and have his team reach the state finals in order to surpass Damon Bailey and become the state’s all-time leading scorer. On the year thus far Romeo is averaging 32.8 points per game and he has said that breaking the record is not a priority for him.
Based on Langford’s current scoring average it appears that he will end up anywhere from 2nd to 4th all-time.
Here is the current all-time IHSAA boy’s top 10 scoring list. Langford has passed former IU greats James Blackmon Jr. and Alan Henderson in recent weeks:
