As we reported last week, the IU women’s basketball program landed three new recruits last week, including two players that will be part of the 2020-21 roster.
The program formally announced the addition of Nicole Cardaño-Hillary and Chloe Moore-McNeil today.
In a release from IU, head coach Teri Moren commented on each player.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women’s Basketball has announced a pair of additions to its roster in Nicole Cardaño-Hillary and Chloe Moore-McNeil for the upcoming 2020-21 season.
Cardaño-Hillary is a transfer from George Mason where she played three seasons and was the 2018-19 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. Moore-McNeil will be a freshman next season, coming out of Greenfield High School in Greenfield, Tenn.
Cardaño-Hillary is a three-time All-Atlantic 10 selection in at George Mason where she was the league’s player of the year (2018-19) and rookie of the year (2017-18). She broke the program’s all-time scoring record last season by scoring 1,766 career points for the Patriots. As a junior in 2019-20, Cardaño-Hillary averaged a team-high 18.3 points per game along with 5.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.2 steals per game while garnering a spot on the Atlantic 10 second team. The 5-foot-7 guard scored in double figures 27 times and scored 20 or more points 11 times. In addition, the Madrid, Spain native finished her career fourth in 3-pointers made (159), fifth in steals (216) and 10th in assists (292) in Mason history. She started in all 94 games while averaging 18.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game in three seasons while helping her team to a WNIT berth as a freshman.
“Nicole is a proven player and has performed at a very high level,” Indiana head coach Teri Moren said. “We are excited to bring her into our program and get the chance to work with her and help elevate her game. She fits our culture with her work ethic and her desire to improve. Nicole’s ability to score, while also getting others involved, mesh with our system. She has the potential to be a very good player for us.”

Moore-McNeil is a two-time Tennessee Class A Miss Basketball out of Greenfield High School where she helped her team to a 34-0 record as a senior and averaged 20.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 40% from 3-point range. She has scored 2,598 points in her high school career and finished with more than 500 rebounds, 500 assists and 400 steals. Moore-McNeil, a 6-foot guard, is a three-time Class A semifinalist including a Class A State Championship trophy in 2018. She is a three-time 13A All-District selections where she also helped her team to three district championships.
“Chloe is a player that we have been tracking for a long time,” Moren said. “She has had an outstanding high school career, having been a two-time Tennessee Class A Miss Basketball and leading her team to an undefeated season as a senior. Chloe is very versatile and will be able to provide length and activity on defense for us”
