Indiana will be without the services of three scholarship players on Wednesday evening against Little Rock, including a starter.
Trayce Jackson-Davis, Trey Galloway and Anthony Leal all emerged from the locker room not in uniform about 60 minutes prior to tip.
Jackson-Davis appeared to be dealing with a back issue towards the end of the previous game against Miami (Ohio). He is Indiana’s leading scorer and rebounder with 20.8 points and 8.8 boards per contest. With Jackson-Davis out, look for sophomore center Logan Duncomb to move into the rotation. Freshman Malik Reneau will get his first career start.
A key rotation player, Galloway suffered a minor knee issue in the Xavier game according to Mike Woodson. He was also not in uniform for the Miami game. Freshman guard C.J. Gunn saw significant minutes against Miami with Galloway out.
Leal was injured late in the Miami game shortly after entering the contest. He limped to the sidelines and is wearing a boot on his right foot on Wednesday.
All three players are standing at midcourt watching warmups. IU Athletics provided the following note about the status of each player:
“Indiana senior forward Trayce Jackson-Davis (precautionary reasons), junior guard Trey Galloway (precautionary reasons/knee), and junior guard Anthony Leal (ankle) will be inactive tonight against Little Rock. No further questions will be addressed at this point. The program will provide further details when available.”
Indiana and Little Rock tip at 6:30 p.m. Eastern in Bloomington.
