Hoosier fans making the road trip to Atlanta now know how to plan for Indiana’s December matchup with Auburn.
The Southeastern Conference and ESPN announced television and game times for each member school on Thursday.
The Big Ten vs. SEC matchup between IU and Auburn will tip at 2 p.m. ET on Dec. 9 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Ga.
For fans watching on television, the game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
Auburn coach Bruce Pearl mentioned the contest this week in a media availability.
“I hope that can become a home game for us, but I’ve got to tell our fans, the Hoosiers travel, and there will be a lot of people leaving Bloomington and Indiana trying to get down to Atlanta in December to do a little Christmas shopping,” Pearl said. “So we need our fans to continue to go over to Atlanta and give us a fighting chance against Indiana.”
Auburn was 21-13 last year under head coach Bruce Pearl, who is entering his tenth season with the SEC program. He led the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament each of the last two years, and the Final Four in 2019.
The Tigers finished the 2022-23 season ranked No. 32 according to KenPom, two spots below IU.
IU and Auburn have only met once before — a 107-90 Hoosiers win in Indianapolis in March, 1987. That was a round of 32 win for Indiana that led to their 1987 national title.
