Multiple outlets reported that Virginia Tech sophomore guard Jalen Cone has included Indiana in his final seven schools.
Cone’s final seven includes Oklahoma State, Indiana, Penn State, Northern Arizona, Nebraska, Buffalo, Iowa State according to the reports.
The 5-foot-10 Cone has completed two seasons in Blacksburg. He has averaged 8.4 points in 47 career games while shooting 41.1 percent from 3-point range and 87.5 percent from the free throw line. Cone’s numbers took a dip in 2020-21 when he made 34.9 percent from long range after making 45.7 percent on 140 attempts as a freshman.
Cone was a 4-star recruit in the class of 2019. He was ranked No. 102 overall according to the 247Sports Composite. He reclassified from the 2020 class. He was ranked 53rd in the 2020 rankings by ESPN before reclassifying. Indiana did not offer Cone a scholarship as a recruit out of high school.
Hailing from Walkertown, N.C., Cone played in 15 games, starting four contests during the 2020-21 season. He missed the first three games of the season as he recovered from an offseason injury and missed Virginia Tech’s last four games of the season due to an injury.
