Trayce Jackson-Davis is listed as a second-team pick on The Sporting News’ Mid-Season All-America team, compiled by Mike DeCourcy and published Thursday morning.
The sophomore big man is averaging 20.1 points and 8.7 rebounds through 16 games for the Hoosiers. He also leads the team with 29 blocks and has recorded 23 assists and 10 steals. He is shooting 53.6 percent from the field and ranks fourth nationally with 96 made free throws.
Jackson-Davis is one of five Big Ten players among DeCourcy’s three teams. Iowa center Luka Garza and Illinois guard Ayo Dosunmu are on the first team with Baylor’s Jared Butler, Gonzaga’s Corey Kispert and Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham.
Minnesota point guard Marcus Carr joined Jackson-Davis on the second team with Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs, Southern California’s Evan Mobley, and Baylor’s Davion Mitchell. Michigan’s Hunter Dickinson made the third team with Louisville’s Carlik Jones, Gonzaga’s Drew Timme, Alabama’s Herbert Jones and Providence’s David Duke.
Jackson-Davis was also named on Wednesday as one of ten finalists for the Karl Malone Award, which is given to the top collegiate power forward in the country by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
In late February, five finalists will be presented to Mr. Malone and the Hall of Fame’s selection committee. The winner of the 2021 Karl Malone Award will be presented April 9, 2021.
