You knew about Romeo Langford and Devonte Green. Now add two more IU names to the NBA Draft early entry list.
The league released its official list of early entry candidates last night and couple more Hoosier names appeared.
Guard Al Durham and forward Justin Smith have both also entered their names for consideration. Both players just completed their sophomore seasons at Indiana.
Smith averaged 8.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for 2018-19 season while shooting 49.6% from the field overall and 21.9% from behind the three-point line.
Durham averaged 8.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game for the 2018-19 season while shooting 40.3% from the field overall and 34.8% from behind the three-point line.
Under the NCAA’s rules, all four IU players will have the right to withdraw their names from consideration for the Draft by Wednesday, May 29. Under the NCAA’s new rules, the players can sign with agents during the process as long as they terminate the agency contracts prior to withdrawing from the Draft.
Durham, Smith and Green are all most likely just utilizing the process to obtain feedback from NBA scouts and executives. All three are expected to return to Indiana for the 2019-20 season.
Langford is expected to stay in the Draft, although his draft stock is slipping at least according to some recent projections. Nevertheless, Langford should be a top 20 selection and most likely a lottery pick.
In total, 175 college players put their names in for early consideration.
The 2019 NBA Draft will be held Thursday, June 20 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
