Watch below as IU basketball legend Bob Knight is inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on May 13, 1991, thirty years ago today.
Knight spent the majority of his speech recognizing everyone who makes successful coaching possible.
“More than anything else, when a coach is honored, it is a team honor,” Knight said as he accepted his induction. “For all the people of all my teams, most of all the players, I’m very appreciative. This is their award, this is a team award.”
Long time friend and fellow Hall of Fame coach Pete Newell introduced Knight.
