Former IU basketball great Steve Alford was in northern Indiana this week for his family’s basketball camp affiliated with Huntington University.
In an interview with WANE TV, Alford discusses the camp, the recent changes in college basketball, Bob Knight, and more.
Alford graduated as IU’s all-time leading scorer. He is currently the head coach at Nevada.
He set an NCAA record with his seven baskets from beyond the arc in the 1987 national championship game, a victory over Syracuse that would secure a fifth national title for the Hoosiers. Alford was the Big Ten MVP in 1987 and went on to a brief NBA career.
