New IU football defensive coordinator Charlton Warren met with the media to discuss his group as the Hoosiers open fall camp.
Warren was named Indiana’s defensive coordinator on Jan. 26, 2021. He replaced Kane Wommack, who is now the head coach at South Alabama. Warren will also coach the Hoosiers linebackers.
Most recently Warren has been in the SEC. He led the defensive backs at the University of Georgia (2019-20), the cornerbacks at the University of Florida (2018), and he mentored the defensive backs and served as special teams coordinator at the University of Tennessee (2017). Warren played at Air Force and he was a defensive coordinator there from 2008 to 2013.
