Watch below as freshman running back Trent Howland met with the media for an introductory Q&A session.
The 6-foot-3 and 230 pound Howland arrived in Bloomington from Joliet West High School in Illinois. Joliet West did not play in 2020 due to COVID-19, and Howland would not have played anyway as he recovers from an injury. He was named the Southwest Prairie Conference Most Valuable Player as a junior when he led the program to its first conference championship in 50 years.
In 2019 Howland rushed for 1,401 yards on 178 carries (7.9 average) with 14 touchdowns.
A 3-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite, Howland was rated No. 811 overall in the 2021 class, the No. 58 athlete, and the No. 22 player in Illinois.
