Nothing has been formally announced, but former 5-star recruit and USC running back Stephen Carr appears likely to be Indiana’s starting running back when it opens the season at Iowa on Sept. 4. On Thursday his running backs coach Deland McCullough described Carr. “His strengths are he is very explosive, his change of direction is high-end, his ability to make people miss, he runs with power, he runs with decisiveness,” McCullough said. “His pass protection is where I want it to be also, and obviously he has great hands.”
Over four seasons at USC, Carr ran for 1,329 yards on 264 carries (5.0 ypc) with 12 touchdowns, and he caught 57 passes for 421 yards (7.4 ypc) with one touchdown.
