You might have known that Purdue head coach Matt Painter grew up an IU fan.
But did you know that he went to the 1987 title game with his dad, spent an entire summer with Pat Knight, and would have loved nothing more than a scholarship offer from Bob Knight?
Watch below as Painter tells hilarious stories of experiences with Knight as a high school basketball player, and other encounters with the coaching legend during his career as the Purdue head coach.
Painter graduated from Delta High School in the Muncie, Ind. area and played for Purdue from 1989 to 1993.
