It has been a long and frustrating climb back from a seemingly never-ending series of injuries, but Boston Celtics’ wing Romeo Langford is finally enjoying a nice run in the NBA — and it is coming at an opportune time.
The former IU star has played 18 and 27 minutes in Boston’s last two playoff games against the Brooklyn Nets.
He scored four points and added two rebounds, an assist and a steal in a game two loss on Tuesday. On Friday Langford scored six points and added six rebounds and an assist. The Celtics were +21 in the minutes Langford played on Friday, a team high, and they pulled to within 2-1 in their first round series.
Although he produced some offensively, Langford’s role has largely been due to his defensive capabilities, and he gave Boston good minutes on that end while often drawing the assignment of future NBA Hall of Fame players James Harden and Kevin Durant.
