Watch as UCLA head coach DeShaun Foster met with the media on Monday to answer questions about Indiana and his team’s bye week.
UCLA is 1-0 to start the 2024 season after defeating Hawaii 16-13 in week one. They were off for week two.
A former star UCLA running back, Foster is in his first season as a head coach at any level.
Foster joined the coaching ranks not long after a successful seven-year NFL career with the Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers in which he recorded more than 4,500 total yards and 16 touchdowns – 3,570 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground and another 1,129 yards and five touchdowns through the air.
Foster is one of the most accomplished UCLA running backs in school history. He completed his career second on the all-time touchdowns scored list (44), third on the school’s all-time rushing list (3,194 yds) and fifth on the all-time Bruin scoring list (266 pts).
Foster spent the previous 11 seasons, including 10 at UCLA, in the collegiate coaching ranks. He also coached one year at Texas Tech. Foster spent the 2017-2023 campaigns as the Bruins’ running backs coach, adding the title of associate head coach in 2023.
Indiana and UCLA kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
