Five-star class of 2023 forward Xavier Booker plans to take an unofficial visit to Indiana next week, The Daily Hoosier can confirm. Booker previously took a junior year official visit to IU in October and returned for a gameday visit in February.
The news of the June visit was first reported by recruiting sites 247Sports and Rivals.
The 6-foot-11 Booker has risen to No. 4 in the nation in the 2023 class according to 247Sports after a strong spring playing AAU basketball with George Hill All Indy.
Booker averaged 12.5 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 34 percent from 3-point range in 2021-22 while helping to lead Cathedral H.S. to the Class 4A Indiana state title.
Indiana is one of many in a crowded recruitment that includes Duke, Kansas, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Memphis, Auburn, Louisville, Purdue, Texas, Miami, Michigan State, Creighton, Missouri, Michigan and many more. Booker also has interest from Kentucky as well as professional basketball leagues.
Booker recently won MVP at the Pangos All-American camp in Las Vegas, tried out for Team USA, and played with the Junior Indiana All-Stars as part of a hectic spring.
The Daily Hoosier caught up with Booker earlier this week. For a full story on the latest with his development, recruitment, and thoughts on IU basketball, GO HERE.
